Filled with enthusiasm & anticipation we took the long road from Jo-burg to Martin’s drift border post in Botswana. Just after the border we had our first lunch under the Botswana skies before we pushed onto Khama Rhino Sanctuary in Serowe the birth place of Botswana’s first president- Sir Seretse Khama. Soon before long we reached Maun and with a bit of hustling & bustling after a day of driving through real wilderness. The next 2 nights we spent in Santawani on the Moremi game reserve and after encountering 9 different species of cats and also negotiating with elephants face to face we headed off to the one and only Okavango Delta – MAGNIFICENT!!!
Floating to the campsite on wooden mokoro’s, giving way to hippo’s we reach our untouched destinations – BREATHTAKING!
We walk in the remote wilderness area’s, fishing with hippo’s in sight and experience true beauty.
After that we headed off to Chobe Safari Lodge in Kasane, stopping on route @ Makgadikgadi pans. Chobe Safari Lodge is an unknown luxury in Botswana, with awe inspiring game drives and sunset river cruisers, we saw close to 300 elephants crossing the river right in front of our eyes!!
The last 2 days we were in the Bushfront lodge, Livingstone, visiting Vic falls to see the smoke that thunders’, taking superb photo’s of one of the 7 wonders of the world.
Bungy-jumping, white water rafting on the Zambezi and fishing for those elusive tiger fish, not only did we have a blast, tons of good laughs and unparalleled scenery but we also appreciated the things that memories are made of.

Nice one Tinus
